Karen is a board certified adult nurse practitioner, specializing in gastroenterology. She also is a local primary caregiver. She received her Master’s Degree from Stony Brook University, graduating summa cum laude. She received recognition for academic excellence in advanced practice nursing for her class of 2011. Her prior experience includes seven years as an emergency room registered nurse in a Level II trauma center caring for a variety of acute conditions. Karen joined Gastroenterology Associates in October 2012. Her clinical interests include treatment, diagnosis and continuing care for gastrointestinal diseases and hepatology, She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Patient education is strongly emphasized.

Lenore Lamanna received her Associate of Applied Arts in Nursing at Suffolk County Community College, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Joseph’s College, her Master of Science as an Adult Nurse Practitioner from Stony Brook University, and her Doctor of Nursing Education from Teachers College Columbia University. Her nursing background includes medical-surgical nursing, hemodialysis, gastroenterology and peritoneal dialysis which she taught to newly diagnosed chronic renal failure patients. She worked in private practice in Manhattan specializing in dermatology. She currently serves as a Clinical Associate Professor at Stony Brook University School of Nursing, where she is also Coordinator of Student Resources Development. Lenore is an asset to our practice and to our patients.
